Job Description :
Duties and Responsibilities:
Welders are responsible for performing repair and maintenance on containers, chassis and/or the vehicle fleet. This position routinely requires moderate to extreme physical exertion and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working in awkward positions.
Perform a detailed visual examination for defects such as cracks, holes, tears, failures, corrosion, missing or deteriorated fasteners, sanding, grinding, cutting, welding and other fabrication or repair work on company containers, chassis, and other equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
Grinds metal parts after welding.
Welds steel components using Mig and Arc welding equipment.
Cuts steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
Bends steel components using a break ad shear.
Fabricates steel components on containers.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA standards.
Completes required paperwork utilizing computer system.
Performs related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching of metal and plastic parts.
Utilizes standard shop hand tools, measuring devices, and equipment.
Paints repaired and/or new containers.
Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
May assist in other projects or areas of the shop as needed.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements :
Education: Certificates, Licenses,
Experience: 2 years of relevant experience
Languages: English—Bilingual a plus
Skills: Basic skills in welding techniques; knowledge of safety procedures and practices necessary while operating or repairing containers and chassis; skill in operating tools equipment, parts and procedures utilized during the repair and servicing of steel containers & chassis,
Traits: Ability to work well with others, team player, self-starter, proactive, well organized
Education: High School Diploma / GED.
Experience: Completion of trade school welding courses and welding certification. Any combination of training, education, or experience equivalent to good (1 - 3 years) experience in welding and repair using oxy-acetylene and ARC welding processes.
Skills: Knowledge of: the work hazards and safety requirements of the welding and metal fabrication trade, including the proper use and care of tools and equipment; and
the techniques, materials, and tools of the welding trade (i.e., gas, MIG, and arc welding, and techniques of brazing and soldering nonferrous metals).
Skill in the use of a cutting torch, and in repairing and fabricating ferrous and nonferrous metals.
